Driving at work

Health and safety law applies to work-related driving in the same way as it does to all other work activities. We can help your organisation to meet its obligation to manage the risks to staff whilst driving at work

All organisations have duties under health and safety law. For example, The Health and Safety at Work etc Act of 1974 states that we must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all employees while at work.

According to Department for Transport figures, more than a quarter of all road traffic incidents may involve somebody who is driving as part of their work at the time. Driving is probably the most risky of all the activities employees regularly undertake, and that risk must be assessed and managed effectively. The obligation to do so is both a legal and moral one.
